Partnership
The college is committed to ensuring that we work in partnership with the various stakeholders of the college. This means working closely with parents and members of the local community to ensure that all feel fully involved in the direction and work of the college
Pupils
The vision of the college revolves around fulfilling the potential within all. Therefore, it is vital the college develop strategies that enable us to track and monitor students throughout their time at the college and looks after their spiritual, moral and social welfare. This involves tracking students carefully and working with them to ensure the potential within all is realised.
Pedagogy
The skill of teaching is partly developed through experience. However, at South Molton Community College we see Pedagogy as one of the main planks in our mission. The development of strategies that enable young people to learn effectively regardless of their most efficient learning style or ability is crucial to the achievement of our vision.
Personnel
The staff that work in any organisation are the key to the success of the organisation. At South Molton Community College this means ensuring that we are in a position to recruit, train and develop the best possible staff. This belief is demonstrated by having successfully gained the Investor in People mark.
Culture of High Expectation and Mutual Respect
Education can only take place within a culture of high expectations and mutual respect. This is evident within the behavioural policies within the college and the strategies for involving students in the decision making processes within the school.
The college is committed to motivating students to achieve their best, this only happens when teachers, parents and pupils have high expectations. The college works hard to ensure that the necessary strategies required to underpin this are fully in place.
