NCS is a unique experience where teenagers can live away from home, develop key life skills like budgeting, how to boost their CV, craft a top-notch personal statement and so much more – all alongside meeting other teens from different backgrounds. There’s also the chance to give back to the community, with 30 hours dedicated to social action projects.
The summer programme lasts four weeks in the summer holidays so they won’t miss any school. It’s also backed by the government and costs just £50 to take part – including food, travel and accommodation.
NCS is a truly fantastic opportunity for young people to kick start their future.
If this is something your teen might be interested in, visit ncsyes.co.uk/what-is-ncshttp://ncsyes.co.uk/what-is-ncs to find out more. Representatives from Petroc, the local NCS delivery team to South Molton Community College will also be speaking to all Year 11 students next year and letting them know about the chance to take part next summer.
We’d like to congratulate the 23 SMCC students who will be taking part in the National Citizen Service this year.
