Football team reach the semi finals of the English Schools National Cup

On Tuesday 24th January our football team managed a 4-3 win to secure their place in the English Schools National Cup Semi Final.

It was a hard fought game against the students from Carisbrooke College on the Isle of Wight.

Dylan Williams scored the first goal and then Olly Cheek scored a hat trick. In between our 4 goals Carisbrooke College also manged to score 2 goals.

At half time South Molton went in 4-2 ahead.

In the second half Carisbrooke College put a lot of pressure on the SMCC team. But the boys stayed disciplined and kept Carisbrooke out.

Carisbrooke scored late on to make it 4-3 but our boys handled the pressure and kept Carisbrooke at bay!

Man of the match was Olly Cheek, scoring 3 goals and handling the pressure of scoring 2 of them from the penalty spot.

The draw for the semi final is on Monday lunchtime, 30th January.

Congratulations to the whole team, we are very proud of you!
