REMEMBRANCE @ SMCC 2019

Four students represented the school at the Remembrance Service in the town church on Sunday. At 11am on Monday 11th two students visited the town Cenotaph. On both occasions wreaths were laid on behalf of the students, staff and Governors of SMCC.

Every student was given the opportunity to write a personal message on a poppy, these have been used to produce the spectacular display in the picture.

As a school we came together for our Remembrance Service today, there were readings and poems from both staff and students. Mr Howard played the ‘Last Post’ followed by a 2 minute silence that was respectfully adhered to by all. During the silence students laid a wreath in our memorial gardens.

It is fantastic to see so many students and staff wearing their poppies with pride. We should have a large donation from the collection boxes to hand over to the Royal British Legion.

Thank you Mrs Willmot for coordinating all the events.
