SMCC Show Jumping Team lead the South Molton Carnival

On Saturday representatives of SMCC’s show jumping team (most recent over all winners in the North Devon Schools Show jumping League) led the procession in the South Molton Carnival. This is the second year that they have done this.

Tack and turnout were impeccable, complete with hooves painted in SMCC purple. The plaiting of manes alone must have taken hours.

Our students were magnificent. Some sporting sashes and rosettes from their recent win. They won the “Animal” class of the carnival before the procession began. The horses were calm and interested, despite the terrifying noises from the pirate ship float.

A huge thank you from us to our wonderful, supportive parents, carers and grandparents who arranged for the team to take part. They also transported the horses to the town centre, collected money for charity during the procession and picked up after the horses along the route.

Thanks also to our students, who never balk at giving up their time to work as ambassadors for their sport.
