Latest sports tie awards

Anthony and Toby have been highly recommended by David Roper the Basketball Coach for North Devon.

Together Anthony and Toby have improved tremendously in the last year and have represented North Devon in several matches and Competitions. Both play in the ‘guard position’ and have excellent ball handling and ‘one on one’ skills as well as being very competent defenders.

I think they both have a very bright future in basketball if they wish to pursue it at higher levels.

Champion School Status

We are delighted to confirm that South Molton Community College has been awarded Bronze Champion School Status from the NCS Trust for 2018/19. This has been awarded to us in recognition of the dedication shown throughout 2018/19 in facilitating an engaged and motivated year group – with more than 1 in 5 Year 11 students participating in the summer experience!

This would not be possible without our schools commitment to NCS, allowing NCS to attend events and promoting the programme internally. This highlights that as a school we are passionate and enthusiastic about providing excellent student enrichment opportunities beyond GCSE exams. A truly Broad and Balanced approach to our educational delivery.

Special thanks must go to Mr Jones who drives this project in school as part of his careers management role.

Artwork of the week

This week “Artwork of the week” goes to Molly Young in Year 9 (Grenville).

Molly has been producing consistently high quality work during the mixed media unit and this is her artist poster based on the scrapbook artist Teesha Moore.  Molly spent several lessons carefully painting the figure and the results are fantastic!

Well done Molly, we are all really proud of you.
