Assessment pattern:
Unit 1 is externally examined through a written paper of 1hr 30minutes and
counts for 40% of the overall mark.
Unit 2 is internally assessed, and then externally verified, through an
assignment brief and a practical assessment. This counts for 60% of the
overall mark.
You will be expected to work to given deadlines and ensure that all work is
presented as stated on the assignment brief. Wherever possible work must
be presented as an electronic file to enable accurate records and details to
be kept.

“My parents own a hotel and I always thought I’d probably
end up working in the hotel when I left school. SMCC
advised me to change the options I was going to take and to
challenge myself and aim for an apprenticeship or going to
college. I started studying for a ‘Diploma Level 2 in Hospitality
Services’ at Bicton College and I love studying at college, it’s so
different to school. I’m now looking to swap at the end of my
diploma to a ‘High Level Apprenticeship Diploma in Travel
and Tourism’ with an aim for a career in yachting or cruising.”
