Pappy Show - Tuesday 28th March - Year 8

On Tuesday 28th March 2023 Year 8 had the opportunity to watch an amazing piece of performance delivered by the National Theatre. The National Theatre brought a brand-new devised piece produced, devised and directed by the Pappy Show to SMCC. The Pappy Show has been specially commissioned for the National Theatre's secondary schools tour and features a cast of 9 performers. The show leant into the ambitions, hopes and feelings we hold and those we are forced to squash. The performance was multi-disciplinary focusing upon gender, race, sexuality and identity. Students were enthralled by the 90-minute piece followed by a Q and A session led by our Year 8 students. Year 8 thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this thought-provoking piece aptly named 'Shut Up I'm Dreaming'.
We are very much looking forward to further visits from the National Theatre here at SMCC.
