STEM CHALLENGE

On Tuesday 9th May we took two year 8 teams of engineers to compete in the national Faraday STEM Challenge at Bideford College. On the day the teams went up against other local schools to design, engineer and present a prototype of their own.

The brief remains a secret all year and on their challenge day, students across the country use their engineering skills to manufacture a solution that includes a structure and working electronic features.

Both of our teams received specific praise and feedback on their work, and demonstrated teamwork, resilience, creativity and focus throughout the day.

In the end, one of our teams won the challenge day and went home with the trophy - a great success!

Well done to all the students who took part and watch this space for next year!

Sadly there are no photos of the products and cannot say any more details on the task as Faraday keep this info secret until all schools have finished their challenge days for this year.
